droid x locked up

My droid x was having audio problems could not hear incoming callers or myself so i tried to factory reset my phone but now all i have is the motorola logo showing on my phone and nothing is working, can't even power phone off w/out taking out battery.

Try resetting again with this method...
Android version 2.3 (Gingerbread)
- Power the device off.
Press and hold the Power button then select Power off.
If the device isn't responding to input, remove / replace the battery.
- Press and hold the Home key then power the device on.
Press the Power button while holding Home.
- From the Android Recovery screen, press Volume Up / Down simultaneously.
- Select wipe data / factory reset then press the Power button.
- Select Yes -- delete all user data then press the Power button.
Reset process to may take approximately 1 minute.
- Ensure reboot system now is selected then press the Power button.
- Refer to Initial Activation and Setup.

can't get the phone to do anything. took battery out tried to hold down home button and power on and still nothing but the motorola logo showing.

If you can't get past the Moto logo doing what @Wildman suggested, you probably will need to take it to a verizon store and have them "re-flash" the phone to get it back up. You have a Droid X and not a Droid X2 , right? I sort of recall that the button-sequence might be a little different than the DX (which I have).
Lastly, are you absolutely SURE you pressed the right buttons and performed that sequence Wildman posted? All it takes is pressing the wrong button(s) and the process won't work.
