What do you mean you lost your whole screen? Screen is all blank?  Try to remove hte battery from your phone for awhile. Put it back in and turn on the phone

There is a known screen issue with Droid X.  I have just received my replacement Droid X, my first one was sent back due to a major screen problem.

There are several video's of the problem on you tube.com, just search for droid x screen problem and see if it is what your screen is doing.

good luck !!

the known screen issue has been fixed by motorola and it from what I saw wasn't  a completely black screen  Many pictures I have seen were regarding lines on the screen and it looked really bad. So far I haven't had any issues with mine so far.  Kinda glad they were backordered.  It sounds like some app he installed made screen go black which to me would be unrelated to the known launch droid x. See if you can reboot the phone by loading the default files if you can get a picture.

That's normal for a homescreen replacement app. Easiest way to load it up normally is to go into an app/browser. Then press the home key, should load up.

I would recommend returning Ahome and just picking up LauncherPro though, it's free and great.

i lost my whole screen to blackness as well. i can still hear sounds and all of my alert noises and what not but i cant see anything and it doesnt appear as though my touch screen is working either (based off of trying to do different things that i know would make noises if the screen was working) i got my phone literally 4 days ago and have barely loaded 3 apps onto it. so im pretty sure it wasnt the apps. help? i tried removing the battery as well.....

I downloaded this program as well and had to call Verizon Tech support and I will be happy to tell you what he did to help me out.  You have to put your phone in SAFE MODE to uninstall the APP cause it won't work on DROID X. Turn the phone off and then turn it back on and while turning it back on hold down the button that has the 4 little boxes on it until the phone comes on and says safe mode in the bottom left corner and then uninstall the APP and then restart the phone again normally and it should return your phone to normal.  I hope this helps you out it sure helped me. I may be to late for you but I may help someone that reads it.

You are a life saver!  I thought I was going to have to perform a hard reset to make my black screen go away.  Your post completely fixed my issue, I can't thank you enough!
