A couple of the usual questions...

Has the card been formatted?

Has it been "mounted" by the phone?

If it is the card that came with the phone, it should be ready to use.

Its been almost 9 months since I got my X (and still have the first one, that has to be a record of some kind). I can't remember if the card came installed and mounted or not.

Good luck,

My sd card is not not being recognized on my droid either. This is the 2nd sd card that has been a problem. Now I lost all my saved info.

Verizon better get it together...I am not a happy customer after 15 years right now!

I had a co-worker with the same problem. Her SD card was not seated correctly. I had her pull it out and reinsert it. She was then good to go. You want to do this with the phone powered off.

Thank you gerio and HotRod57 for your help. After removing the card, try re-inserting while the phone is powered on. It should immediately recognize it and display "mounting sd card..". If this doesn't work, format the card.
If you have media stored on your card, first try to move your data to your computer using a SD card reader before re-formatting. If this is the first time using the card, format the card from the settings menu --> SD card & phone storage --> Format SD card.
After re-formatting the sd card, it should work properly. If you still are having issues, please stop in a Verizon Wireless store with a technician for hands-on troubleshooting.
