email not fetching, not sending

My yahoo email has worked fine since I got the Droid X last September.  The last email update I received as 6/21 at 5:19 pm.  I've received many emails since then but the Droid has not updated since then and the manual fetch isn't working.  I composed an email and sent it to both my yahoo account and my work email.  Neither account has received it.  I shut down and restarted a couple of times and pulled the battery and restarted.  Email is still not working.

You using the YAHOO Email APP?  I would :

- go into SETTINGS / APPLICATIONS / RUNNING - scroll to YAHOO EMAIL and press CLEAR DATA/CACHE  (you MAY get prompted for your LOGIN ID after this).

If that doesn't work,

1 - go into My Accounts and REMOVE the YAHOO account

2 - Uninstall the APP

3 - Power Reset

4 - download & reinstall the APP

5 - Add YAHOO Account back in

Let us know if that works.

I don't see yahoo in the running services list.  So I removed the account, downloaded the app and it installed, asked for the account info and started up (no phone shutdown).  The emails were retrieved and the app looks like a new version.  Thanks for the suggestions.

I also have this problem with the Droid X's email app.  I don't use Yahoo, but the problem seems to be the same.  Even though I set the app to automatically check email every 15 minutes, it never does unless I open up the app and request a sync manually.  We are talking about Motoblur's built-in email.

...Motoblur its AWFUL and it should be removed like the malware it is.

Thanks Cody21 for your great suggestions!

Metalliqaz, have you tried clearing your cache also? Normally deleting the email account, then clearing cache does resolve issues with emails not coming through. I would also make sure Auto Sync and Background Data are turned on. Go to Settings>Data Enabled>Data Delivery, make sure both features are checked. If either of these are off, that could cause the phone to stop auto-checking for email.
