Your email account may need to be removed and re-added. I have included instructions below for the Droid X as your profile indicates as your device. If you have a different device please repost and we will provide you with the correct instructions to remove and re-add your email account.

Remove email account from your Droid X:

Welcome to my world. I have had my Droid X for 6 weeks, third phone as Verizon kept sending me new ones to fix this email problem, my email accounts were reset 5 times by Verizon and guess what? Sometimes my emails go out and sometimes they don't! Nice work. One tech told me it was a yahoo problem another tech said that was not true. When this problem starts to occur on any given day, you will also not receive any mail either. Lovely! If you google this problem, you will find many forums with users complaining out the same issue. This makes me crazy! Never had a problem with my blackberry. Help!

okay...out of the blue my messages sent today...i  had tried everything and nothing worked.  mysteriously this morning they were gone..out of the outbox.  of course they are all old now!  so not sure if something worked or if some magical droid appeared in the middle of the night.  hopefully it sticks!

if pop3/smtp server address are needed, re-check to see that they are right and authentication if needed.

possibly like me you don't use the pop3/x email a lot but want to send from time to time.

in "fetch', i've selected a "manual" fetch instead of at various time intervals and what's happening is sent emails go into the outbox until a "fetch" occurs, either at a time interval like my pc or when i do a manual fetch.

all sent emails go into the outbox until the fetch occurs and then, only will the mail be sent but you'll receive whatever's available into the inbox.

i find it easier to text to an email address than dink with this pop3 email.

to save downloading everything on the fetch, i check cox.mail or rr when i was in hawaii to see if i need to reply to something.

hope this helps.

Usually this happens when the ISP update security settings and the user has to update outgoing server information, I dont know why you had phones replaced because of this because this has nothing to do with the phone.... All you should have to do is contact you ISP and get the correct server and port access information.  This is all I did to resolve this issue with RoadRunner.

I've got all my email accounts set to 'push'.  Don't know if this effects outgoing mail, but in the three months I've had this phone, only once or twice has email just sat in the outbox...but that was apparently due to network issues and not the phone.

Yeah...sure...this problem doesn't happen on BB, but I had the BB, and all it really was, was a very good hand-held email device...not an enhanced multi-function device.

Mine sends it when I hit send because I am usually sending emails to clients or sending followup to appointments and I have never had to wait longer than a few minutes for email to arrive to destination, simply allowing my out going messages to sit in my out box wouldnt ever work for the client or my boss, so I know my messages are not sitting in out box until the hourly send and recieve.

send yourself an email and check to see if it's in your inbox on a pc/mac without doing a manual fetch.

Both of my 2 Yahoo accounts and gMail shows my emails in and out bound at same times the web base notification receives message, but my Roadrunner and work push emails is usually received before web version but none of my out bound or sent shows in those accounts but this is why I set my main Yahoo account as default.

This gives you a somewhat instant connection to the email client server but the down side is this usually causes a battery drain because phones email client and web connection remains active.  Also depending on the software and access rights is given to server determines if this option is truly functional on device, some push servers requires a dedicated connection from a verifiable source.

Are you trying to send email through WIFI?? i have that issue when on wifi, but over 3G the emails go out without a problem. Only my gmail works fine both on 3G and wifi. So try to get off your wifi and send email, let me know what happens
