Can anyone tell me how i can get my phone to notify me when i have new facebook messages/posts/etc?
sign up for text message notifications in your account settings on your FB profile (done on the full site, so it might be easier on a PC)
the FB app for Android does not send notifications to your phone (although there is a setting in app itself to receive notifications)
on blackberry devices, the FB app checks for those type of updates every 15 minutes and you get a little FB icon/notify on your screen but Android does not work like this ...there are apps on the market that will send you notifications outside of text messages ...the one I use is Facebook Plus (also known as blue notify) but its not a free app.
the other work around is going to FB on your browser, which detects youre using a mobile device and defaults to the Touch site, which will immediately tell you how many updates you have in the top left corner of the page.
