How do you move them to the Phone memory? I have pics and vids I'd like to save from my old phone and can't , for the life of me, figure out how to movw them off of the SD card and onto the phone. Either all at once or individually. Then I can move them to the card that came with it.

I am not sure how to do it on an X, but on my Dare all I did was to go into the gallery, select "Move", check the photos to be moved, then select "Card" and voila!
Try it and see if it works like that.

That's what's drivin me nuts. I can't find any file tools at all. I can't find a "move" or anything similar command to use. I just moved them all onto the card from my other phone. Hate to think I have to move them back to my old phone just to put them on the new card. Also, any idea what the mac address is for these things.

When I read the part about driving you nuts I just remembered a pirate joke.
Anywhosen, I haven't the foggiest what the MAC address would be or where it is. I went through my manual and I don't see anyway to move files from the card to the phone. Maybe you can store the photos on your PC, then connect the X without it's memory card inserted and see if it will let you copy them to the phone's available memory (which is like 6.xx GB).
I'll see what else I can find out.

Try this: Press and hold the photo you wish to transfer and see if a "Move" option will appear. I would try it but my Droid is sync right now and I don't want to mess with it til it's done (even though I know I can sync and still take calls, etc)

MAC ( Machine Access Control)addresses are alphanumeric addresses all network equipment has, including wireless cards. You can protect your wireless network by allowing the router to connect only to devices listed in it's MAC address permission list. No passwords to hack. I need the phones MAC address for it to access my wireless network.

Oh, and I gave up and copied all my files to the computer and then to my Droid

Right...as i suggested to you in my previous reply as the only option because the phone's 8gb of internal memory is not directly user accessible.
I'm glad you got your files copied over but I don't understand what MAC address info on this thread is all about or why you bring it up as relavant to your issue?

MAC address has nothing to do with your SD Card so I am unclear why you are thinking you are needing one to access it.. Like originally posted this is a network protocal so I dont get what you are accessing that would ask for this that is related to the SD card.
Also for the record, the command to move to SD Card isnt for all files but for the application and this is only supported if the programmer added the feature into the application to accept that option, if you want to move a app to the SD Card all you have to do is go into the Setting/Applications/Manage Application menu and when then click on the app you want to move and you will see the option under the storage list for device, there will be a button that says "Move to SD Card" or "Move to Phone" depending on where it is already located.

To find MAC address:
1. Press Menu button on lower left of front of phone.
2. Settings.
3. About Phone.
4. Status.
5. Scroll down and you should see Wi-Fi MAC address.
6. If it says it's unavailable, turn on Wi-Fi and start at Step 1 again.

users can't access the 8gb of phone storage. Your only option is to xfer the files from the sd card to your pc and then from your pc to the X via USB. You can't move to phone storage and then move back to SD card all within the phone. Sorry.
