I purchased and downloaded a ringtone from Verizon. I opened and 'saved' the ringtone. But I don't know where it was saved or how to retrieve it or how to install it. I checked my 'music' files...but it is not there....where do I find it and how do I install it???
Thanks so much.

1. Go to Text Messages view, threader veiw that shows the music note pic when its not opened.
2. Press and hold on Pic
3. Select Save from the list
4. Now the ringer should be saved in SD/Messages folder
5. Then you can copy file to SD Card/Media/Audio/Ringtones and you can then access the ringers through the stock menu.

it's got to be an mp3 to be used as a ringtone or it won't save & it will be found in music.

i don't know how to find that folder on the phone. i emailed a few to my phone, opened/saved to sd card & went to music folder on phone, selected that file & selected it as my ringtone.
if you can, save it again.
hope this doesn't muddy the waters.

Download ES File Explorer from the market and then opn it to the SD/Messages folder and you will see the file or you can open the music player and it should file the audio file and select menu and Save as Ringer.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I am VERY new at this. I did download ES File Explorer and opened it to these folders:
'aloqa' 'Android' 'DCIM' 'glogs' 'Lost.dir' 'media' 'slacker' 'VZNavigator' 'Yahoo'
and these two files: 'ATT00049' (which is a picture from somewhere in my phone...nothing that I did) and
'temp.apk'
I have opened everything and cannot locate my 'saved' audio file.
I saved my file again and noticed that it says "saved to phone memory".
Thanks again,
Linda

Hi,
I have saved this numerous times (following everyones instructions to the 'T'). It is in a 'text' folder and it shows up with a 'speaker' icon rather than a musical note.....(it is a human sound). Everytime I have saved it....it says that it is saved to the 'phone memory' I have checked & re-checked and checked again every file in my SD/messages....it is not there. Guess I will just have to go back to the store where I purchased the phone.
Thanks,
Linda

Hi,
Thanks for your response. It came in a text message......it shows the speaker icon....I click on it and I can hear the ringtone.
I tap on it when it is playing and to the right of the pause is a sort of square button...when I click on that...I have the option to 'save' it...which I did.....but I don't know where it was saved.....or how to retrieve it or how to install it.
Linda
