Apparently this option is not available until the 2.2 update. I thought the atrackdog could do it since you can "export apps to the sd card" but I tried it out. I didn't see my apps in my sd card

Should I back up my apps?
I would say yes do it in case anything were to go wrong with your phone.

regulus.....i don't know? seems to me that any free apps could just be downloaded again just as easy. i just wanted to make sure that i backed up the few apps that i actually had to buy...so i don't have to buy them again.

regulus49, DEFINITELY backup. Have had to do 2 factory resets & need 3rd (bookmarks keep disappearing & browser crashes)... HTC admits there is a problem with Google Maps!
Without Astro's File Manager backup & reinstall, I could not have reinstalled a number of Market apps that were available & free in early May, I think all simple games, but after on Market, the developers apparently received Cease & Desist orders & apps were pulled from Market.
Bad thing with above is that there is no "support" for these apps & once this update is fully rolled out, it's quite possible that none will work : (
Better to backup & not need.

Thanks to all that replied.....time to back up.Most of mine are the freebies so i guess that backing them up is not to important but better than nothing!
