After listening to a voicemail, the icon in the windowshade never goes away. I've checked it many times and there are no new voicemails and no saved voicemails.

How do I make that icon go away?

Sometimes if I forget to either delete or save a voicemail and just hang up, the icon stays, but do does the voicemail. If this isn't your problem, try restarting your phone.

There are no messages to delete, and the icon is still there after restarting the phone.

I have the same problem with my phone right now. Is there a solution for this yet?

This is from my phone so some adjustments might have to be made for where the same thing is in the Droid Incredible.

Go to Settings > Call > Press the "Clear Voicemail Notification".

hope that helps.

I had cleared mine as well when I wrote that last note. When I went to check mine after reading your latest post, I saw my voicemail service was off.

Try: Settings > Call > Voicemail Service and see if it selected.

Hey Ann, I saw this post earlier and went to voicemail settings on my Dinc to see what could be done and there are not any options you can change. There are only 2, one is a permanent item stating I am using my carrier for VM and the only other is what number to call to get to VM, which is *86.

I can not find any other options.

To the poster, maybe try calling *228 and choose option 1 to reset your phone. You will not lose any contacts, data, and such.

When I first selected Voicemail Service, it opened a dialog box that said "my carrier" and dot to the right. The dot was gray until I selected it. Then when I backed out to the call section, the voicemail settings which had been grayed out until that point was available again.

I giving them something to TRY, but was giving no guarantees that it would work.
