just wondering does the droid charge have the specs to handle those two os? or is gingerbread the most it can handle cuss I mean charge does have last years tech pretty but with 4g I mean its like a galaxy 1with 4g but I did hear that that upgrade the cpu with much bigger data pipes plus at least 5times more pipes then the one galaxy series has or will Samsung adjust the cpu power to work with ice cream n jellbeans/jello if so that might work

I don't get it, the phone just got released with the most recent OS and you are asking about upgrades....  :smileyvery-happy: , you do realize the OS that you are asking about hasn't been released which means that the requirement specs hasn't been determined and information on supported devices don't really exist..

Amy information is assumptions and not guaranteed.

Icecream (2.4) is in early development, that was the early code name for a future update to Phone based devices (3.x is tablets). Rather then jump to a 2.4 code name factor they went with 2.3.4 and plan a tweak for certain devices to 2.3.6 for specific tweaks 2.4 is still reserved with no SDK tools.

Jellybean? Not a current official name. They actually used Jellybean in the past and dropped it.

2.4.X would be some time in the future and not before 2012 as 2.3.4 is suiting needs. THere are some bug fixes warrented that may require the use of 2.4.6, but not a rewrite of the OS.

THe current offcial latest build for smartphones is 2.3.4 which the Charge will have soon. Some makers of devices will self rename the form factor but not as offcial builds. Samsumg uses EEX and FEX builds when they customize. One maker did a 2.3.6 then later renamed it as ther is no 2.3.6 SDK.
