I've always been able to recieve incoming pictures and now when I recieve them I get an error "unsupported media type"
The person sending me them is sending them the way they always have and they used to work and every one else still gets the pictures. Why can't I open these pictures anymore?
Are you using email or mms?

Its mms! But that shouldn't matter on incoming emails!

The picture issue outlined on your post must be frustrating. Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
Try the following basic troubleshooting steps and let us know if the issue gets resolved:
Power phone OFF/ON.
Soft Reset: Remove battery and re-insert after 20 seconds.
Clear messaging Cache and data: Menu>Settings>Applications>ManageApplications>All>Messages>ClearData and ClearCache.
I trust that one of the above steps will resolve your concerns. Keep us posted.

I want you to be able to use picture messaging on your phone! I know how important this is and would like to help you! Thanks to Wildman for the information, too! Let's get this figured out.
Are you getting the same error message as the original poster (vickie5540) that states "unsupported media type?" If not, what error message do you get when trying to receive a message? Is this happening on every picture message? When did this start & are you able to send picture messages with no problem?

Once that is done, please send a picture message to your own number and see if you can open it. This tests both your incoming and outgoing message capabilities. Please post back with your results.
