I've had both the Droid X and the Droid Incredible. I, personally, staid with the Droid X and returned the Droid Incredible. What did I like about the Incredible? I believe that it took a slightly better picture than the X; the multiple ways you can have your screens (play, work, etc.), and that's about it. What did I NOT like? The fact that the blinking, green notification light staid on for only 5 minutes. On the X it stays on until you pull down the notification screen. I like the fact that you have widgets from both Motorola and from Android Market. The Incredible had far less widgets. I did not care for the soft home, menu, search, and back buttons. Brushing them slightly would make them do their job. I prefer the hard buttons of the X (my personal preference). Don't get me wrong. Both the Incredible and the X are super, I just believe that the Incredible had a few more cons than pros and that the X beat it slightly. If it were a horse race, I would announce that Droid X won by a nose.

I pretty much second Mort's good observations, except to add that I prefer the larger screen of the X, although the Dinc's screen looks really nice (is it still AMOLED? I thought they changed it).
I think the battery life of the X is in general a little better.
You certainly do not have a bad phone, by any means. It does, indeed, come down to your preferences, as passe as it sounds.
And it still amazes me just what people find appealing about a phone. Last week, I ordered an Incredible to put on an un-used data line, thinking that my girlfriend might warm up to it. I had my X and an Incredible side by side, just for one evening before it was discovered that the Incredible had an ESN issue and would have to be exchanged (the CSR's determination, not mine). My girlfriend had previously said that she thought my X was a little too big for her to hold comfortably. However, that night, she picked up both phones and said "I would be happy with either of these phones". Okay, then. Then she said "show me the dial pads on both phones" (all she will probably ever do with any phone is use the speed dial on the dial pad to make calls). The Incredible's dial pad covers only the bottom half of the screen while the X's dial pad covers nearly all of the already larger screen. She could see the X's dial pad much easier.
And she decided right then that the X was what she wanted. So when the Incredible is returned, we will exchange it for an X.
I do wish I had more time to play with the Dinc, though.

Thank you both for your Input it is very much obliged, how is the X's interface as opposed to the incredible? Also by any chance would anyone know that if u used yr upgrade on the new phone and u were looking to return it to exchange are u still allotted the upgrade price? Would u juat need to pay the difference on price of the phones?
Yes, you can exchange it once and within 30 days. Pay the difference, plus the $30.00 restocking fee. It's still cheaper than outright buying the phone. This is what you should do with the Dinc. Use it for a few days and decide if you'd like the bigger-screened X.
In my case, I will not have to pay the restocking fee (I hope). I was sent a phone that couldn't be activated, plus it had a bad earpiece, to boot. So mine should be classified as a warranty exchange. And per my girlfriend's request, I will be paying the difference for a Droid X.
The Dinc's interface was very responsive, the little I was able to play with an un-activated phone. (You'll love this) But the X's screen is very responsive, too.
Just trying to help...

I own a DInc and have not spent hours and hours with a Droid X. However, with the time I have spent with the Incredible, and with the time I have spent observing the Droid X, I would not say that I would be willing to give up the DInc. I would take either one, but with a choice, I would take the DInc, for the size, and HTC Sense, and the fact that there really is nothing better about the X. If you have an X, you probably like it, and if you have the DInc, you probably like it too. In other words, I'll stick with my DInc, but would not say that it is necessarily better than my friends' Xs -- and neither is theirs better than mine!

And neither would I.
There ya go, Luke. I can't see how you'd be feeling insecure about the Dinc after that.

I got the droid x in August. However I always liked the Dinc, so I got my mom to upgrade. I took the dinc and gave my x to her. I just prefer a smaller phone, thats all. The X is an excellent phone, with superb call quality. I've also been very impressed with the dinc. HTC sense is so much better than moto blur, or whatever the x uses. The x is also a much more elegant device. I liked the loud speaker quality of the Dinc, and even thought the dinc display is smaller, the htc keyboard is much more accurate for typing in my opinion.
They are both excellent phones. If you prefer a larger screen, get the X. If not, the Dinc is another great choice. I like them both.

It appears we are all ambiguously in agreement.
