What's the typical increase in battery life using the free app... Does buying the app help any more?
I personally don't think those apps help. Also, the free app has almost no functionality and many features require the paid version. There's also reports of juice defender slowing your phone down and screwing up network connctivity.
better idea will be using task panel or ATK...Carefully.

I never said DON'T try it, i just gave you my opinion and I am not a psychologist. People claim all kinds of things....for every good review on the market there's a bad one for juice defender. [Edited because I am in a bad mood]

Do you mean a physical battery? if so, yes there's a larger battery available to purchase that will give you noticable increase in battery life. If you are talking about extending battery life using an application, then I can't really speak to that. everyone's phone is different.
there's a thread here about the actual battery somewhere if you do a search.
