I think this will work for what you want to do.
On any home screen, press the Menu button (left physical button at phone bottom), then select Settings > Accounts & sync and make sure that the Google account that you use to sign in to YouTube is listed. If it is not, then you need to add that account for syncing. Press the Add Account soft key at the bottom of the screen and follow the prompts.
Once that is done, select the YouTube app, then hit the Menu key and select My Channel. If you are not signed in, do so. You will then be able to see your channel and upload to it.
