low app space message

Is anyone else having this problem with their phone? I only have 5 apps that I myself have downloaded and this message keeps popping up. I was told to do a hard reset or keep clearing caches and data. Is that really the answer to the problem? If so that is sad and I'm sure Iphone doesn't have this problem.

Since you have already cleared your cache from your apps and your phone is still rebooting, this would indicate that there is an issue with the device. I would suggest doing an alternate master reset on the phone.

The steps for this are: Power device off> Press and hold Volume down and Power button at same time until screen displays with 3 androids at the bottom > Press Volume down to highlight Clear Storage, press Power Button to select option> Screen displays “Clear storage” so highlight it then> choose Delete All User Data by pressing Volume Up Yes.

I would certainly start with the clearing of cache and data from your applications including the pre-installed ones. Browser and market are some of the usual suspects.

How much internal memory is available?

Check the size of the Dialer Storage app. If quite large, clear the data for it. This will delete the call log and text message memory so backup as needed.

Size of the email app?

Start there and report back. If these things aren't helping, it is usually best to complete a factory reset.

I find that if I delete text messages that have images attached to them I clear the error, also I clear the cache for facebook every so often.

It is a stupid error that was never addressed

Yes! Same problem here. Started a few months after purchasing phone. Lots of tips out there on how to fix, and they all seem to work, temporarily. Then the problem comes back a few days/weeks later. Seems like a bug with this phone alone. Here's a thread on htc.com with what worked for me today:

having major issues like this. Mine is the same way.. very few apps. I've cleared all caches, even completely cleared some apps. That worked for a while, now nothing is!! Now I can't even get my phone to open to the main screen... It just keeps reloading the beginning when you first turn your phone on...the whole eye thing..and how it says "droid". just keeps doing it over and over again till i take out the battery. very annoying.

I've had this problem twice and I think it's the City ID app, I cleared the data from it in the manage apps menu and voila, it went away. Even HTC could not provide me with a solution. Now if we could only uninstall it....... Hope Verizon reads this.....

How much memeory can these possibly take up? The phone has over 6gb of storage.

I have had the Dialer Storage application grow from 5 mb to 20+ mb in just a few days on my Eris.

Yes but if 20mb is filling 6gb, even when the phone shows there is ample available space, then that's a bigger problem then can be solved with clearing your cache.
