microSD Card not recognized by PC

When I plug in my Incredible 2 with the USB cable to my computer, I get a pop-up for a 5.86 MB CD drive that asks to install the VCast software, and that's it. The VCast software does not recognize a phone being attached.

The microSD Card (16 GB) is not seen as a drive by Windows Explorer (Win7 64 bit). I get no Notification on the phone as to what to do. The phone is set to be a Disk Drive and also to ask when connected. The microSD card works fine on the phone (pictures, video's on it), the the card itself is fine. I can remove it and put it in an SD card adpater and the computer will recognize it.

What to do?

Problem solved by turning off phone, removing battery, replacing battery, turning hone back on, all while USB cable plugged into both computer and phone.

Don't know which of those steps did the trick, but when the phone came back on it gave me the option of what to do in USB mode. I still get the request to install the VCast software (which even the VZW support tech who helped me with this suggested I not use!), but the SD card now shows up.

HTC Sync doesn't support the Incredible 2 (although I am trying it anyway). The Windows Device Manager shows no Yellow or Red warnings and list an "HTC Android Phone USB Device" under Disk drives. It's just that it's a 5.8 MB (with 0 MB free) CD Drive!
