Other than a flashing light on the front of the phone and the notification panel at the top of the screen, is there any way to make the phone make a sound when you have missed a call or text?
I've heard that Missed Call from the market does this well, but I don't use it myself. According to reviews it handles more than just calls, but I've not used it to validate.

Download an app from the market that has reminders.
Handcent SMS is very popular for text messaging options, not sure about missed call alerts.
Thanks, that works perfectly for a call and think it will be just as good for a text message.
