muffled calls

I just got a used certified reconditoned Droid Bionic maled to me to replace my two month old brand new one that "died". It just died. The replacement phone has aweful reception on the other end. I can hear them fine..they say I am in a tunnel and sounds muffled. What is the fix here ? Another used replacement phone ??

@Dauwis - We may have already helped you resolve this issue David, but if it has not been, try these steps out.

If you have a cover, remove it, and make a few test calls to see if the issue persists. If you do not have a cover, try performing a voice search, or a voice recording to see if playback sounds far or muffled, or if the voice recognition software has a hard time making out you're command. This way we can try and determine if it is a mic issue. For the last step, perform a master reset to see if this resolves the issue. If it does not, let us know so we can replace it for you, David.
