Kimberly_Nicole said to do here on the forums:

Do you have an antivirus program running or another program you downloaded that is having that to show up?  If so, you will just go into that program and go to Settings-Remote Management-Lost Message.

If all else fails, print a sheet of paper on your computer that has what you want to be on your home screen.  Take a closeup picture of it with your phone and then set that photo as your homescreen wallpaper.

It was an app that did it. Its called antivirus. Thats why antivirus is relevant.

There used to be a "banner" section in Settings - Display. However, for some odd reason, it isn't there any more. If you want your name on the home page, about the only way I see you can do it is to get a scratchpad apps and go that route.

Mortb, I believe you are mistaken. there never has been a Banner setting within settings that allowed you to do that on the X.

Go into the Market and type "banner" into search. there is a widget in the market called "Banner" that allows you to put a banner on your home screen. This is a widget so you would have to add it to each screen. Never used it myself. But, may work for you.

Another option is, if you have a photo editor on your computer, then you can create a "wallpaper" using the text in the editor and sending it to your phone and then setting it as the wallpaper.

It is the antivirus program. I have it and have my name on the front screen.

Open the antivirus program and go into the settings. You will see an option for something like "text after banner" and that is where you put it.

Okay, checked this out myself. There is a widget called "Banner" which is free. Go to Market and search "Banner." Two or three of them come up, I went to "Banner" and played around with it. You can type almost anything in it. It gives you two lines, several fonts, but you can also put in your own fonts. I tried several sizes and colors, however, I discovered that 5 is about as high as you want to go. Like I said, it;s a cute widget and it is free, which is a very good price.

Yeah! I'm keeping it too, lots of things you can do with it, including writing quick notes to yourself.

Also here is a small widget for lockscreen if you do not want something as large as original post...
