I upgraded to a smart phone and it worked great at home in Texas but I work in Alaska 2 weeks at a time and when I got up here it only rarely will let me send or receive a call. my last phone worked perfect here and other co-workers phones - same carrier work just fine- standing within feet of me. Tech support has a ticket on this and are looking into it. My question is: could there be something I need to set or reset or activate to make it work out of a Verizon area?

Try dialing *228 and option #1 to program phone again (even if already programmed) which updates networks settings and also try option #2 and update roaming towers and see if that helps..
Also check and make sure phone settings isn't configured to only use CDMA towers under the phones advance settings..

Thanks for your response; I tried *228 but since I am out of a Verizon area that doesn't work and I don't see any advance settings options to check CDMA?
The Tech support person I spoke with seems to think the system I am roaming on is not recognizing my device for some reason. So possibly it is an issue with that--but I can't rule out a phone issue. Another worker has an identical phone and gets great service.
Thanks,Jeff
