only want notification sound for text NOT email: How do I do this?

Is there any way to have a notification sound play only when I get a text message and not when I get an email? Is there an ap. or setting Im not seeing? Please help.

You could always set the email sync to never and it will only sync whenever you open the application.

The other option if you want email to sync on a schedule, is to find a ringtone that is a few seconds of silence and use that as the notification for the email and use something else for the text messages.

You can turn your email notifications off. The steps are below.

From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located in the lower-left).
Touch Mail.
Touch Menu.
Touch More.
Touch Settings.
Touch Notification Settings.
Touch Email notifications.
Email notifications are enabled if a green check mark is present.
Touch the desired notification.
Notifications are enabled if a green check mark is present.
- Notification sound
- Notification vibrate
