This has happened to me before, then it stopped, and now again! When I talk to someone on the phone, I hear buttons being pushed, then it cuts the person off. When I look at the phone when I am talking, (and I hear the buttons), I see the numbers that have been pushed. Why is this happening?

Make sure you keep the phone secure to your ear. There is a sensor that shuts the screen off so random button pushing does not occur when talking on the phone.
If you pull it away for a split second the screen will light and the keys are available for a very short time.

Ya asked for ideas, I just offered one. And yes if the phone lights and touches your cheek, you will be inadvertantly pressing the buttons.
Next thing I would try is the next time on a call, check in a mirror and see if your screen is lit. maybe the sensor is going out.
Also pull the battery while the device is on and wait a couple minutes. Reinstall, power up and see if that clears up the issue.

also make sure your hair isn't getting between you and the sensor (there is a sensor that tells the device that you are holding it to your ear and that the screen should lock until you pull it away from your ear). ladies (and guys with long hair) have had issues with hair messing with the sensor so the device isn't sure if it's being held to your ear or not. make sure none of your hair gets between you ear and the phone. i know....sounds silly....but worth a try. you may have a bad sensor if the screen is staying lit up ALL of the time when you have it held to your ear.
