I have tried everything I can think of to get incoming ringtone off vibrate. I go to setting and ringer volume and make sure volume is set high and that I am not on silent mode. my incoming messages have sound but incoming call just vibrates. I did have the smart profile: face down option checked but turned this off just in case and still vibrates. I got the phone on july 15th and the ring worked for 2 days then after adding apps and music it quit working. not sure what i have done to it. Please help if you can. I am so frustrated.

Check under Settings/sound and display settings and make sure the check isnt on next to the Silent Mode option, from description this may be your issue..

Ouch! That's a bummer!
Mine rings and vibrates but haven't played around with silent mode yet. One thing I can't figure out yet is why it doesn't automatically turn the ringer off when I put the phone face down or double tap the screen. I have the settings setup to do that.
I figure I just haven't got it all figured out yet.

Found it. (in reverse order)...Phone vibrate/Sound and Display/Settings/click on the middle .... circle with arrow inside. Let me know if that works.

There seems to be a problem in enabling the smart profile on some droid x's. It's been reported in the motorola forums for the droid x. Here's a link
https://supportforums.motorola.com/thread/32547?tstart=0
I haven't seen or heard of anything that works to fix this without doing a factory reset. I wouldn't enable smart profile until it's been fixed.
Hope this helps,
~LZ
