preloaded blockbuster app

anyone else out there getting nothing but a black screen that has blockbuster written in white text at the very top in fairly small font,, with nothing but black under it?   been this way since i got the phone a few days ago,, why advertise apps as a big thing when they dont even work?

Check the comments in the app. See if people are complaining the same thing you are. My guess it would be something is wrong with the app. There are some dud apps out there.Some that shouldn't even be on the market. I always tend to check reviews on apps before installing. If most good reviews then I download.

MIne does the same thing.  For the second poster, the problem with the Blockbuster app is that it came preloaded, so most would expect it to work.

yesterday was the first time i opened that app after having the phone for almost 2 weeks and i got the same thing.........black screen with the word blockbuster, lol......impressive app!

Ah okay didn't know it came preloaded.Don't have the phone. I saw a commerical last night. This guy was on his Droid X and he was in the blockbuster app. He was scrolling through movies and even watching them.  Worked for him!!  ::rolls eyes::

You would expect this app to work out the box since it is preloaded.  The bad news is it doesn't work, the good news is there is a fix.  Just start the app and allow the black screen with the white blockbuster writing to remain open for a few seconds.  Eventually a popup window will open and tell you that you need to update this application.  Accept the update and it will launch the market place app so you can download the application.  I would expect, though I didn't try it, that you could also just open the marketplace app and search on "blockbuster" and install the update that way as well.  Anyway you install the update, the app will work on the phone afterwards.

Have same issue, but even waiting a few minutes get no popup for any type of update.  Went to market place to try the download method suggested and hardly any reviews are more than a 1 star.  Most say it wont install on the Droid X and those that seem to have gotten it to work are not happy at all (3 to 5 dollars to watch a movie).  Also a big complaint is that you cannot unistall the preloaded version off of the Droid X.  I would have thought an app would work if it was preloaded.

Got my phone on 7/17, blockbuster app was loaded but I didn't register it right away.  I recently got the software update and then found the black screen came up when I clicked on the BB app.  So I downloaded the app and now I am good to go.  Some reviewers seem to have had success with using the app to download and watch movies--I guess you won't know if it works for your phone or not til you try it...

i too had this same problem but like others have said if you just download the app from the market it infact works

I had the same problem but I think I downloaded some kind of up date and now it brings up the movie list. Haven't activated it yet though.
