problem uploading 2.2 from "about phone" section

I finally got to uploading 2.2 to my phone from the "about phone" area. Once the downloading began I placed my phone down to give it time thinking it would take about 30-60 min to download (phone was on charger the whole time). After about 5 minutes I hear my phone going off, assuming it was alerting me that the download was complete. I pick it up and my screen is black displaying the following message.

Bootloader

30.03

Err: A5, 70, 00, 00, 23

Battery OK

OK to Program

Connect USB

Data Cable

I've tired connecting it to my computer thinking this is what it needed to upload 2.2, once I've plugged the phone to the computer via USB cord my computer is unabel to install the program due to the fact that its requesting that I insert the "S Flash" disc which I dont have. I pulled the battery numberous times but get the same black screen along with the Bootloader message.

What should my next step be.....?

Try powering the phone on in safe mode.

To start Safe Mode:

Press and hold down the Power Key.
Touch Power Off.
Touch OK.
Press and hold the menu key, then press the power key to power on device
Continue holding the Menu key until Safe mode appears in the left corner of the screen.
This may take up to 30 seconds.
Safe Mode will appear in the bottom *left* corner

Disabling Safe mode

Press and hold down the Power Key
Touch Power Off.

Then try updating the phone.

From the main screen, touch menu tab
Touch Settings
Touch About Phone
Touch System Updates
