I can't get my qwest email... q.com to work on my droid 2
Any solutions to this problem.
I have tried to put the info in on manual with the incoming server names as follows:
mail.qwest.com
mail.q.com
q.com
qwest.com

When I first got my D2G it took me two days to get my Qwest e-mail working on it, then a couple hours to get my wife's working on hers......
Couple days later I got the card in the mail from Qwest that they were moving their mail servers from Microsoft's Live system over to their own in-house servers so I'd have to set it all up all over again.
Took me all day, and several calls to Qwest's tech support (and I did THIS stuff for a living before I retired)......
Before you set your phone up, be sure you use Qwest's web based online tools to update your account (and sub accounts) to the new system. Any email programs you use like Thunderbird, Outlook, etc. will also have to have these account settings updated.
Anyway, the new server names over at Qwest are:
The incoming Pop3 mail server is - mail.q.com
The outgoing SMTP mail server is - smtp.q.com
Be sure you use our full e-mail address when asked for your account name, also your complete passwork.....your password is case sensitive.
Do NOT use any security like STL, TLS, etc. Qwest's servers no longer use any of it. Their system security is based on you logging in with your name and password.....nothing else is required. If you have any of that turned on you will not get a conneciton with their servers.
