Why can I not open photos that people send to me thru text messaging?
Do you have your cellular data turned on? Photo messages won't download/open over wi-fi.
Sorry for being stupid but this is a new phone for me. I think the data is turned on but am not sure how to check it. I do have wifi turned off though.
You aren't being stupid. You should be able to verify that your data is turned on by going to Settings > Data Usage and ensure that Mobile Data is On. You also should see a 3G or 4G symbol in your notification area, noting that you're connected.
Mobile data is on. I dont see 3G or 4G though. I still cannot get pictures to come thru.
