I am not a apple user but I am assuming that it should work preatty much the same as a Windows PC, try plugging in the device and drop status bar at top and select SD Card > Mass Storage and see if it shows a storage device under drive list and then you should be able to just copy and paste from unti to SD Card.

Wildman,
I can find the SD card but from there I'm lost.
I did manage to send it from my Apple to my gmail. Thus its on the phone but I can't get it to my SD card. Am I missing something?

Are you in the Settings > SD Card & Phone Storage menu? If so that option will disconnect the SD Card from the phones directory to allow you to remove the card without causing issues if it is removed while data is being written to card... Its a safty feature. Kind of like unplugging a external hard drive from a pc.

Since you sent it to your gMail account, did you click the download button on the email and the file will be downloaded under the SD Card > Downloads folder. You can then acces the file by opening the file explorer under launcher.

I tried but the phone said it doesn't support it.
Is there any other way around this?
Thank You,
Wayne

What format is the audio file? File needs to be a MP3 file.
