Just got the droid over iphone. Is there a way to take sounds from text messages & use them as ringtones like the old phones used to be able to do? And, y can't u delete a single text message and must delete all of them from the one person? Also u can't delete a phone call u have to clear the whole log? Can the iphone do these simple things cause my old envy 2 could and if i can't do the simple things, what's gonna happen with the more complex things?

Not sure about sounds from text messages but if you search the forum you might find something. There are also free apps such as Ringdroid that let you create ring tones from MP3s. I thought you could delete individual texts by using touch and hold to bring up a context menu. You can definitely remove individual entries from the call log with touch and hold.

If you're going to rag on the things that the you think the phone can't do I suggest doing some very basic research at least:
1. Yes, there is, go to your application - say, email, click menu>Settings>Notifications>Select Ringtone
2. You can, you longpress (Which I've explained at the sticky above) the message to delete that singular message.
3. You can, you longpress (derp) to delete that one phone call.
Now, perhaps you have something to hide, maybe you don't anyone seeing who's texting you but if you can't even use a 'search' function correctly to find your solutions I wouldn't be worried about that primarily.
