screen fade.

Just received my new Droid X.  Looking at the display on the home screen the letters at the end of a app title will fade.  Example:  Looking at the "text message" icon the picture looks fine but the title below the pic reads "text mess" and fades. Most other icons look fine just the longer ones fade at the end. Another example: Skype mo" and fades.  Is this Normal?

Yes this is normal, the icons have a character limit.  If you mean it looks like this:  Text Message  then yes you may have some issues.
