when i try to send an email, it gives me an error message - and continues to give me numerous error messages for 2 days! how do i get it to stop sending me error messages every time an email doesn't send??

Usually there is an error message if the port number is not correct. I suspect that you SMTP port number is not right. Check it and make sure that you have the correct port number. This number all depends on your carrier.

It can be not only the port number, but also the smtp addess itself. When setting mail for mobile devices the settings are usually very different than when using outlook.
For example Charter through Outlook's smtp setting is, charter.mail.net
For a mobile device it is mobile.charter.net
I would Google >your isp< mobile device email settings.

If your email provider does not require authentication (sign-on) for OUTGOING emails, uncheck that option in email account properties, and set the outgoing port to 25.
This is a very geeky device in this respect. My Droid Inicredible constantly drops my outgoing email settings. If you have the same problem, memorize the settings.
