This morning all I wanted to do was remove some apps that dont get used. Look for my setting icon in apps....not there. Tried the = button and all I get is "linked program is no longer installed on your phone". I called support at verizon. I was on the phone for over 1 hour. Restarted phone 3+ times, shut it down, removed battery, hold down volume and power button. Nothing except when I removed battery it took my phone over an hour to turn on?!?!!?? Phone is now on but still no settings. This is not cool. No update recently either. HELP

It seems that for some reason this is becoming a coming issue with the Incredible, apps are vanishing and users are being lost and I think this is why they pulled the update for the device because it really had issues...... And users complained about the VVM notification on the Thunderbolt
I hate to tell you thing but at this time it seems that hard resetting the device has been the only working solution because the location where app is located it can not be reinstalled under the stock roms configuration..
Hard Reset
- Turn the power off. If your HTC DROID Incredible is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
- Hold the Volume Down button
- Press and release the Power Button
- You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
- Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
- Press and release the Power button
- Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO

I turned off the phone then held the volume down button and turned on - It won't bring up the menu to reset. Any other suggestions?

VHepherd, you should be able to use a standard factory reset since the phone still turns on. Go to Settings>SD & Phone Storage>Factory Data Reset>Reset phone.
Let us know if you need further assistance.
