I received the new update this morning. I noticed it forces skype and it cannot be uninstalled. Also, I can't get skype or city ID to stop running no matter what settings I change. When I open my task killer, they are constantly there. City ID free trial is over and I can't even choose to delete it from my phone, it's very frustrating to be stuck with something I can't delete, have no desire to use, and it keeps running. Any advice?

unfortunately there is no advice. it's bloatware that we are stuck with. can't uninstall and (like many other apps) they'll just eventually start back up after a while. it's unfortunate. however, it's not a big deal as they don't really drain your resources. just continue to kill away!!!! i've noticed MANY more apps running since 2.2. i used to kill all and there were 3-5 running....now every half hour or so there are about 15 running!!!

15. Uninstall your Task Killers
There's no point bothering with a task killer of any sort on Android 2.2, as Google has changed its code to stop apps killing other apps. There's a manual override hidden in Settings > Applications > Manage Applications, where you're able to Force Stop a running app if you must. But it'll be easier and less stressful to simply surrender control and learn to trust Google.

the only way to get these bloatware apps off, sadly, is by flashing/ROMing your phone. not worth the risk if you brick it in the process.
