Just hurry up and wait
I am one of the lucky owners who worry about what it might break and not what it will fix.
another site said the 26th is a definite maybe.
When Froyo came out, my phone didn't recieve it until mid day.
so where should i look for the update number on the droid my phone sytem is on 2.3.340.mb810.verizon.en.us and android fw 2.2.1 and how do u update the android fw?
that's most current.
you can check by going into settings/about phone/updates and it'll tell youif you have teh\\he latest or when gb comes out.
Nothing for me either. I just removed my battery and rebooted it and nothing yet. I love my Droid X and Verizon coverage is awesome, but the company is shockingly obtuse sometimes. Most of us out there are clinging to any news that 2.3 may be on the way and Verizon is silent....I would think it would make sense for them to interact more with the people that pay generous amounts of money for monthly service, phones and insurance etc.
As I've said before, even if they were vague and issued a statement like: 'We are working on an update and will push it out as soon as it's ready for prime time". It's vague and doesn't promise anything concrete, but it sounds re assuring to us phone geeks and shows that the company is interactive with customer service. Right now, the only personal interaction I can see is here in the forums, which I have to thank Verizon for providing.
Verizon should have a department dedicated to customer service interaction, particularly at an internet level. It would be supportive and certainly improve the interaction with the customer which in turn would promote a good company image, something Verizon doesn't have now. It wouldn't cost a lot of money for this effort either. Something to think about.....

They already have a department like that...... Isnt it called Customer Service , also some users stated that they contacted CS and they gave the vague answer you said you wanted that they are working on a update, you can try to call and see if you get any info but I really doubt that you will get any reliable answer.
droidudeaz:i'm just curious why you removed the battery to check on the update?since when is "we are working on an update"..........something you are having a hard time excepting.other forums are posting info about gb also.i posted earlier in the thread of maybe the 26th.
Thats the point Wildman, Verizon Customer service is vague and usually a bit limited in what they say. Maybe it's not their fault, but I think an effort to be more affable from a standpoint of looming updates and other news would be a good thing. Verizon is quite aloof about those things. As I said before, I usually get a better response to a question when I enter it in the forums here. You have replied to questions I've had in the past.
I guess my point was that if you replace the aloof answers at a customer service level with something a bit more substantial
(I've been told in the past that Verizon had no updates planned for a HTC Touch Pro 2 I had a long time ago and the next morning there was a Windows 6.5 update...) it was a substantial update and widely anticipated, yet the day before, Verizon said there were no updates planned.....
I am a big fan of the forums and the answers and candor I get here. My comment was never meant to inflame anyone in the forum.
