What penalties can I expect by switching back to my old env? I want to switch back until moto/Verizon release the software fixes that my phone needs to be able to operate at least as it did when it ran on 2.1.

I had to reply to my own topic simply because by the time I finished writing it on this foruum with my x I lost 3g service. Lol. Another reason I want to switch back.

There will be no penalties.
SImply turn off the X, then power up whatever it is you are returning to, dial * 228, and press option 1.

I assumed there would be some sort of penalty fee because the x requires a data plan whereas the env is just a simple feature phone that doesn't require a data package.

If you are under the 30 days you can return device and cancel service back to original contract... If you are past the 30 days and if you want to switch back to other device there shouldnt be any penalties because you are allowed to change your plans at any time and remove features that is no longer required, if the device you activate does not require the data package then you are allowed to change your plan to reflect this updated device status.

Thanks wildman. Got my x the day after release so im way out of my 30 day return. Its too bad that I'm one of the few who is experiencing subpar performance. Too many reboots and battery pulls and yes. Factory restores. The only plus I can give the phone is the call quality. Everything else has been hit or miss.

Out of curiosity, when you reset do you stop settings from auto restoring because the issues you have reported sound like possible software compatible issue?

I have done a backup to the sdcard and then reformatted. Unchecked the backup services. I believe the instructions were posted by you. Lol
