I had some trouble with this too, but was finally able to get it to connect with the Ford SYNC system. I found that I had to work both the D2 and the SYNC together to get them to communicate with each other. I have done it a couple of times sucessfully.

Did you get the text messaging working? Just got an 11 Explorer.. and spent hours trying to get texting to work! Changed phone name several times, rebooted, removed from sync, and even tried a different phone, Droid X. All sync perfectly, albeit no pictures in contacts, however will not text! Phone requests permission to allow sync to access messages and I surely grant access. Sync says messages sent successfully, however they are not sent anywhere. No record on phone of sent message, nor are they received by recipient. Incoming texts are also not acknowledged by Sync. Profile setup in Sync system shows PAPBSMS3WAY so it "should" be working... Anyone? Any thoughts or help? Driving me nuts!

How did you do this? I have a 2009 explorer and have tried several times and I cannot get the SYNC and the D2Global to stay paired? It will say it is paired and then is loses everything. The next time the phone rings it is not connected. It is driving me nuts, as I drive in a state that doesn't allow hand held cell phones.....

Just an FYI unless it's an actual headset customer service can't help you sync the two devices. Your best bet is to take the phone with you to where you bought the car and let them figure it out. I was neevr able to sync my phone with my focus.

I just got a 2011 Ford Flex and when Syncing the phone had the same problem. Then I realized you just need to type 0000 when the prompted not the pin that SYNC provides.
That should take of your problem
