I can't find anywhere how I can forward texts and save/lock texts (preventing them from being deleted). I could do this on my other phones. How do I do it on the X?

I use Handcent .... But I dont' see any way to FWD a Text in that APP ... you CAN however SAVE a MMS ... When the msg is open, click on the Menu Button and one of the options is "MORE" ... click on that and there is a "SAVE MMS" option. I've never actually used that option but might be worth a try. Let us know if at least that works for you.

Well, if I delete it the msg I want to save, then it's gone. Supposedly it saves it somewhere, but I don't know where and how to retrieve it. Is there another app that does what I want it to?

I can see where to save it online! But I want it saved to my phone for future reference and perhaps to forward later on.

If you open up a txt conversation in the stock "Text Messaging" app and press and hold on one of the txts (speech bubbles) a menu will pop up and one of the options will be to forward it.
I don't know about saving or locking messages, but another option in that pop up menu is to copy the text in the message which you could then past into a document yourself to save the contents. Probably still not what you are looking to do though...
Obviously none of this really helps you if you are using Handcent anyway - you don't want to bounce between apps to do what you want.
