Sorry for the problems you are all experiencing with the messaging on your DROID X's. This symptom is resolved by a master reset of the phone. To do this, simply follow these steps:
- Turn off the phone
- Press Power + Home at the same time
- You may also press and hold Power + Home + Volume Down until display shows android triage screen
- You should see "!" in a triangle with Android guy
- Press the search hardkey - this will unhide the menu and show the following options
- Reboot system Now
- Apply sdcard:update.zip
- Wipe Data/Factory Reset
- Wipe Cache Partition
- Use VOL Down key to scroll down to "Wipe Data/Factory Reset", press camera key to select option and wipe device.
Thanks,

Won't doing a factory reset lose all my personal settings and contacts, groups, etc?

Yes, a factory reset DOES wipe all your personal settings.....takes it back to what the phone would be if it came straight from the factory. Dumb that this seems to be the standard answer for Verizon tech support. Seems its either that or pop the battery. That's one thing I miss about having an iPhone, is that I didn't have to pop a battery every few days like I always had to do with my old Balckberries.....

What is a return receipt?
Have you tried doing a battery pull? If that doesn't work, a reset might be necessary
