I am not receiving some of my text messages. or some of mine will never be sent or take hours to get to the person.
it's been going on for a week. I know they are switching to 4G. but I got my phone back last year, so I am stuck with 3G.
is the work on the switch is what is causing my texting issues?
No - it doesn't have anything to do with 3G/4G as 4G is reverse compatible with 3G. When is the last time you pulled the battery on your phone? If it has been a while, I would suggest trying that first. Remember, your phone is a mini computer and just like a computer, it needs to be reboot from time to time.
We certainly need to get your messaging working.
I know how I live off of texting so I can imagine how important it must be for you.
As m3h0ff suggested, remove the battery or power it off/on.
Make sure you are able to make/receive calls again. Then clear out any old threads of messages that you don't need anymore.
Ensure Airplane mode is not enabled.
Go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>find the text messaging app>Force Stop & clear data>Select OK.
If you have a texting application installed , remove that.
Please let me know if you are still having problems with messaging because 4G implementation doesn't have anything to do with messaging.

I am having the same issue with text messaging.
It started on Tuesday - 7/24/12. I hit a certain stretch of highway then get to my office and I can't send or receive text messages. Prior to that - for a year and a half I've had no issue. I thought the problem was because of my device. I was awaiting a replacement phone and figured that one had finally just died.
I received and activated my new device yesterday and again, I am having the text message issue. I removed the battery three different times - I've deleted threads and tried starting new ones, I have no other text messaging apps running - phone isn't in airplane mode...plus it's also a new device - so there shouldn't be that issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm having the same problem as you guys I think
