How do you go about texting when they give you one word and a number is a phone no. needed and where do you put the word and number?

Download the Handcent App. Not quite sure what you are asking but Handcent makes texting easier.

It's hard for me to explain but some places tell you to text  say TV22  56849 but if you don't have a phone number how do you do that?

Hi chas4x4,

Based off your description you are referring to Premium Messages.  Using the information you included in your post,  you would send a text to the number 56849 and the content would include TV2.  Please keep in mind, premium messages are not VZW services or products. I hope this information is helpful.  Please let me know if you have any additional concerns.

Thank you for the help I believe that's what they were talking about it was for a electric company for power outage.
