texts appearing on the notification bar...

Does it bother anyone else that all texts and emails appear on the notification bar and does anyone know if that can be removed? I know I can take the notifications off but then there isn't any way of knowing if you have a text unless I go and look for it.  Is there anyway just the envelope can come up but not the actual body of the text?

Love this phone but may go back to my BB if I can't fix this.

For text messaging:  go inside your text messaging area and click on Menu button > Message settings > Notifications (status bar).  Make sure this is unchecked (not green) and you will not get the notifications in your status bar anymore.

For mail:

Got into a mailbox for a mail account and click on Menu button > Email Settings > Notifications and make sure the Notifications (status bar) is unchecked (not green).  You may have to do this for each e-mail account you've set up ... I'm not sure.

Hope this helps ....

No, as far as I can tell you get all or nothing. If this is a blocker, you could put the universal textbox icon on your desktop and add Text Messaging to it. You'll get a badge when you get texts, but you won't see the envelope or text body in the bar. It's a workaround, but it may solve your issue.

You can always add a notification tone for text messages.  Also, when you get a message or e-mail, the green light will flash at the top of your phone as a notification.
