Yeah, go to Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Updates. You should then see the notice right there asking you to restart your phone and install the update. Hope that helps! I had the same issue this morning. Was in the subway and couldn't do the update right there and then but I did the above step and was able to install Froyo.

Dunno then. You should probably get the notice again since it seems like it got to your phones ESN.

I had the same issue (did "install later" and it doesn't show an update available). Verizon tech support did have the answer, but with some poking around I figured it out:
Go to Settings > applications > Managa applications.
Find "System Update"
Smash the "Clear Cache" button.
Remove battery and re-boot phone.
It worked for me.

Do not update!! it is will not improve anything - it will mess up your email capability and suck the life out of your battery -

The above was the winner of the "Chicken Little Post of the Day".
Battery might be an issue, but there are MAJOR improvements.

so far i'm gettin better life and lovin the enhancements. other than a minor charging issue (which i easily fixed), everything is in tact and smooth. just make sure you set everything back up to how you previously had it to conserve battery life (turn off wifi, adjust screen bright, etc, etc).
