unsync facebook with contacts

OK, so if I use the "social networking" part of my droid x to use facebook on it, it won't let me NOT sync my contacts with it. Do I seriously have to use an app and not the social networking part of the phone for this to not happen? seems a little bit stupid.

So far that seems to be the only solution. Sorry. You can select to only see phone contacts. Enter the contacts app, then press the menu button. Select display group and select the group you want. As long as you don't "back" out of the contacts it will remain the same. If you back out, you'll have to select the display group again.

I think the social networking on the x is annoying. Same thing happened to me. I had to do a factory data reset then for facebook I just go directly to the website. Its much easier. I get my facebook alerts as text messages.

It would be nice if there was an option to have the phone default to "phone contacts" or "all contacts". Perhaps they can work on that in a future software update....

Can't you undo this linking of contacts by deleting the facebook account from the phone (I'm ASSuming that there was an account set up)?

If it was set up, it can be removed by going to"settings"/"accounts" and removing the Facebook account.

I don't know any other way to make the contacts merge (or un-merge) like that.

If you do not want your fbook contacts to sync with your phone (buassistant/gmail) contacts, open up your contact list, hit menu, hit display group, and then select phone contacts.

or google.

whichever you are using.
