The Droid shouldn't play iTunes music. iTunes music is DRM'ed so you have to have an iPod or iPhone to play them. If the Droid plays them then that is freaking sweet cause nothing else will.

Motorola Media Link (free) made by NERO , does exactly that. Non-DRM that is. It also resizes videos , pictures , etc.
It is made just for this phone and have no idea why Moto/Verizon didn`t provide a link to it in the box or on the phone.
It syncs the Droid with either WMP or iTunes. The great mystery to me is why Moto/Verizon don`t promote this as THE sync solution...it works great. Syncs more than music , pics , video.
Get the word out Verizon !
Note: it is listed as working with Android phones and when I DL`d it a week ago it showed the DROID as one of the phones it works with , but now the DROID isn`t listed , but I don`t think that matters. I used it. It works !

As I know, itunes songs have drm license protection that prevent users playing itunes content on other non-apple mp3 players, so you should remove itunes music drm first, and here is a tutorial about how to convert itunes songs to unprotected mp3 to play on Droid, that may be helpful

I am sure they would technically call this illegal or a violation of TOS of APPLE or something but to me the biggest concern is that most of these I have heard of don't work well or reliably and both options degrade sound quality.

But what you gonna do with those DRM-protected iTunes .m4p music .m4v video and other protected .wma .wmv files from Napster, Rhapsody?
DRM removing is not illegal since Apple itself tell us that we can remove DRM and make copy of the purchased music by CD burning & re-ripping, but you know it is time & money costing, right?
People say DRM is actually not "Digital Rights Management" but "Digital Restrict Management", what you think?
Personally I use a 3rd party all-in-one {keep it legal} program to strip the DRM restriction from music and movie I paid good money, convert formats to my player and make DVD copy for my own use.

I know this is going to sound completely wild, but I just dragged and dropped my music (that I bought and didn't buy) from iTunes to the music folder of my Droid and it plays just fine.
I even put the music video "Bad Romance" that I bought on iTunes on my Droid, and it plays it normally.

iTunes non-DRM .m4a music plays well, but not the DRM-protected .m4p

If you want to use iTunes itself instead of a iTunes clone like DoubleTwist, then try iTunes Agent, although I think DoubleTwist is actually easier to setup and use.

I just bought The Missing Sync ( http://www.markspace.com/products/android/missing-sync-android.html ) and it works great. It's a little pricy at $40, but it works with iTunes playlists which I much prefer to dragging and dropping stuff around.
As mentioned, if you have older iTunes music that was purchased before they went to a non DRM format, they won't play. Missing Sync doesn't even copy them over. All the newer stuff, and the stuff I upgraded plays fine. Anything you upgrade is also a higher bit rate than the older stuff, so it's not just non DRM, they sound better too.

That's why Missing Sync cant work for iTunes DRM'ed .m4p music and .m4v video movie, let alone the other protected .wma songs or .wmv movie from Napster, Rhapsody, Amazon Unbox etc
I promise this tutorial How to remove DRM and sync iTunes Amazon music video DVD movie to Droid can solve all your DRM related or not iTunes-syncing problem.
Cheers!
