weird things my DX does...

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced these things.

I recently went to wakeup my phone (not after a long time or anything, I was using it just minutes before) and the screen was all black, with about 10 apps on the screen and above it, it said "Recently Used Apps" (or something along those lines) When I pushed the power button to put it to sleep and then woke it up again, it returned to my normal unlock screen. I haven't been able to replicate this screen or find anything in settings for it.

Also, just earlier today I went to wake it up, and the screen looked almost like the image of my homescreen was "burned" into the screen - kind of like a TV or computer might get after a while. It was very dim and I could only see it in certain lighting if I moved the phone around. I tried waking it up again and nothing happened. I had to hold the power button and have the phone reboot to get it back to normal. It was almost like the screen stopped working completely for a minute there. It was very weird, and again, I haven't been able to replicate this issue.

Anyone else experience these??

Yup! You probably tapped on the home key a bit too long and brought up the Recently Used Menu, which, by the way, is a handy little tool for switching between apps.

I don't know about the burned effect that could be a bad screen but usually long pressing the home key on the bottom of the phone brings up a recently used menu maybe that's what you saw

The "Recently Used Apps" part of your question is solved, but your other issue is coincidentally something I've noticed about three times over the last week.

I push the Home button to wake up the phone and.......nothing. Push it several times.......nothing.

Push Power button......nothing.

Push and hold Power button and display comes back on.

As mentioned, it's only happened three times. I've rebooted manually since. Haven't installed any new apps lately.

Not a big deal, yet. So, yes, someone else has experienced this.

Hmm. I suppose the Home button could have done it. Although, I have never used the Home button for waking up the phone, I always use the power button. The screen did this upon wakeup. I just tried to replicate it by holding the home button, but it didn't do exactly the same thing. This time, it was sort of transparent and I could see my wallpaper and apps in the background, as well as the notification bar. The first time this happened, the entire screen was completely black, and I had only pushed the Power button to wake it up.

I'm not so concerned about the Recent apps screen as I am about the other "burned" effect it was doing. That sort of worried me a bit, but it hasn't done it since.

It could have been one of those flooks that happens from time to time but since you have only reported it happening once this may have just been a temporary bug.

Never use the Power button to wake up my phone. Not sure why. Not sure how I started using the Home button to wake it up.

Maybe, both the Home buttons on both of our phones are about to wear out?

I will try and use the Power button only to wake it up and see if the "Sleeping Beauty" thing happens again.

Why can't you edit posts from your phone. I'm not near a pc, but I think it's obvious I meant "the Home Buttons on both phones"........just so no one posts asking where the second Home Button is..........

Switch to rich text on your phone? Not following.

As for the Sleeping Beauty thing. It did it again. This time, when I held the Power Button down, the display didn't come on. I got the Red Eye and the phone rebooted.

Hummmmmmm. Maybe this is a glitch that GB can fix?

I have been switching to the mobile version to post because I couldn't get swype to come on and bring up the keyboard. I tried switching to rich text to no avail. However, I switched to html and I can now type in the full version. Problem solved! Hallcp0019, you helped me figure out figure out something I've wondered about since joining. Thanks.

In order to edit the post from a phone all you have to do is view the full page instead of mobile version, if you scroll t bottom of page you will see the work "FULL" and this will resolve the editing option..

I encountered another "symptom" today... I accidentally swiped my finger on the home screen, causing the red 'Home' button to show, with the dots on the bottom that take you to the other screens, then all of a sudden everything started shaking side to side. All the apps, the red home icon and the dots at the bottom were all shaking side to side, almost like they were vibrating. I couldn't select or do anything on the screen, when I pushed the power button, the menu came up and I selected "Power Down" but nothing happened. Ended up having to do a battery pull, first time I've ever had to do one with this phone.

Anyone else have that happen?

Here's another new one on my phone. App, bookmark and folder icons that are usually neatly organized on each home page were all caddywompus. Not all of them, every other icon. It was as if they forgot their positioning. I restarted the phone and everything returned to normal.

I've had that "burned" view several times since I have owned my DX.  I thought at first (dreaded) the screen was going bad, now I know if I wake up the phone and it doesn't wake up immediately to give it a minute and eventually it will come up but it terrifies me to think my DX is going to die!
