when i delete a contact, they keep coming back
If you look at the contact does it say where it is syncing from? (facebook, google+, linked in, google account, etc.) If it is syncing from one of these apps it may just be resyncing it back. If it is coming from google you could try logging in to http://contacts.google.com and see if you can find and delete the contact there.
ChivasRegal, surprise contacts make keeping that phone book in order a challenge. Let's take the work out of it. Have you used the Verizon Cloud or Back Up Assistant to back up your contacts in the past? If so, simply log into your My Verizon, hover over My Devices and select the My Cloud Media & Contacts. Here you will want to delete any contacts that you no longer wish to have sync with your phone. Now, when your phone syncs to the Cloud, that contact will not come back.
