where's my gingerbread?

hey all,just got an Incredible to replace a broken r800x and i'm looking for the gingerbread update but it tells me i'm up to date with 2.2. anyone else have this problem and how do i update with having to download and install through hbooot

Good afternoon! I'm sorry to learn your previous device broke. Where did you receive the HTC Incredible from? If you go back into Settings>About Phone, what is the kernel number under the software info? If this came from a private party, the device may have rooted software and unavailable to receive official updates. Keep me posted!
