wifi error

when i go into the wireless & networks page under wifi it says "Error" and does not turn the wifi on at all. it just says "turning on..." then says error again. does anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?

Good morning!
I know it's important to have access to wi-fi and I'm sorry to learn it's been difficult. Have you been able to turn on the wi-fi before now? What I recommend is placing the phone into Safe Mode and then re-enabling the wi-fi. If it connects while in safe mode, then you'll need to remove any harmful applications or perform a Hard Reset to return the phone back to factory settings. If you do this step, ensure it's backed up to Gmail/Google properly. After the activation, it will walk through the Google sign-in.
Please advise if these steps have corrected the wi-fi concerns you have.

I am having the same problem as of a few days ago. I can sometimes reboot the phone and get it to work but it will undoubtedly switch off randomly and refuse to turn back on. My girlfriend has a Thunderbolt as well and she has no such problems. Can you detail how to put the phone in safe mode?
