My 83 year old mother recently moved to Florida from Virginia, where she had telephone service with Verizon. Since she has moved they have sent her statements showing that she has a credit for over $80 dollars. But they refuse to issue the check in spite of me talking to them a number of times. The latest excuse is that they need to know the exact date she started the service for 'security' purposes in order to issue the check. They know no one has that information. What kind of company is Verizon that it treats an 83 year old woman this way?
